April Meeting
The Presidents report:
The President opened the meeting at 7pm.
The Secretary was asked to read the Treasurers Report as the treasurer wasn't in attendance.
The subject of Liability was brought up and discussed at length. After some ideas were presented it was suggested that we get our status as a Non Profit Organization settled and applied for. The President said he would get the information and look into what action it will take to address these issues.
After the break the first item was a motion to continue the Pizza party by the President. This was seconded by Kent B. a majority vote for the motion carried.
The next Motion presented by the President was to continue the members only Club Hunt. Seconded by Joe Q. and a majority vote for the motion carried it.
The annual cookout was discussed as to whether to continue and if so where at and some suggestions were talked about and the matter was tabled till next meeting.
A motion by the President to have the Club pay for the refreshments at the meetings. The motion Seconded by Jeff L. A majority vote was taken and motion Carried.
The President announced that the meeting for June would be at the beach at Shell Point in Onset.
The Treasurers report:
The Treasurer's report was read by the club Secretary as to the expenditures for the past month.
The Report read, the President made a motion to accept the report as read. Paul C. seconded the motion and a unanimous vote was taken; motion carried.
The Secretary's report:
The Secretary then asked for Volunteers to help with the planting of the coins for the Open Hunt on May 19, 2012 and a list of six people signed on to assist. They will meet at 6:00am that morning and anyone who comes early and wants to help can join in.
In other concerns for the Hunt the Secretary stated that we don't have as many signed up as of this date, two of which are free entry winners from last year's hunt.
Floor discussions from the membership:
A question from the floor came up that we need to have approximately 50 entries to make a return on the amount paid to hunt and the amount the club would return and put into the ground for the hunt.
The President said he would make some adjustments to the amounts and denominations according to the number of participants. He and the Treasurer will have the amounts figured by the time of the hunt and any further amounts needing to be adjusted will take place at that time.
Discussions were started about the use/non-use of Pulse machines, scoops over three inches, and about needing to have different fee charged for those who sign up late or at the door.
Further consideration of these topics will be discussed either at the next meeting, or by the committee for next year's hunt. A more defined and detailed list of requirements and do’s and don’ts will be established and printed on next year's Hunt Applications.
Kent B. extended an invitation and wishes for members of the club to participate in the Silver City Treasure Hunters Club event (Show and Flea Market) in September and explained how it would be a benefit for the club in getting our name out and maybe be able to get members who may be closer to our club etc. We could display our Clubs finds etc. and set out our info and Applications.
